Visions of Spring

A heartfelt glimpse into the life of the extraordinarily brilliant mind of A.J. Questenberg! Visions of Spring is a collection of short stories and poems, reflecting on personal storms and persevering blossoms; withstanding the seasons of life. Fate. Humor. Parenting. Pain. Life. Every season has a fruit.

Summer. Long, hot, and humid days. Aware of and thankful for each breeze that intercepts our path. Air conditioning, bodies of water, barbecue grills, refreshing melons, tea, and lemonade are our means of refuge.

Autumn. Less hot and humid days meet cool evenings. Beautiful, color changing leaves are evidence of the season. Apples, corn, cranberries, and pumpkins; harvest is on the minds of many. Devastating storms on the minds of others. Days grow shorter.

Winter. Cold days and frigid nights. Feathered flocks fly south while some species hibernate. Glistening white canvases blanket the naked browning of Autumn outside. Snuggled by the fire with hot cocoa, inside. Holiday togetherness is often the greatest fruit of this season.

Spring. Thawing of that which was frozen. Showers bring buds, blossoms, and flowers. Flocks return. Species awaken. All scurry for fresh berries. The days are not too short and not too long. A season of new beginnings.

Where there is no vision, the people perish… (Prov 29:18). Holding onto the Visions of Spring, and trusting that new beginnings are ahead are sometimes all we need to keep on keeping on.
